What we collect, why, who sees it and how to have it removed. We collect as little as we can — it would be strange to teach data ethics and then ignore them.
Who we are
College of AI International is an online college selling video courses on the practical use of artificial intelligence. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have.
We deliberately collect as little as possible. We are teaching a subject in which data handling matters, and it would be inconsistent to teach that and then gather information we have no use for.
What we collect
When you enrol, we collect your name, email address and the course you bought, together with the record of the transaction. Payment card details are handled entirely by our payment provider's hosted checkout; we never see or store them.
When you contact us, we collect the name, email address and message you send, plus the course you named if you selected one, so that we can reply and keep a record of the conversation.
When you use the site, we collect basic analytics: pages viewed, approximate location at country level, device type and referring source. This is used in aggregate to understand which courses people are looking for and where the site is confusing.
If you post in the student community, the content you post and the name you post under are visible to other enrolled students.
Why we use it
To deliver what you bought: granting course access, sending your confirmation and certificate, and telling you when lessons in your course are updated or re-recorded.
To provide support: answering your questions and resolving problems with payment or access.
To run the college: understanding aggregate demand, improving the curriculum, and meeting our accounting and tax obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.
Email you receive
Enrolled students receive service email about their courses — access, updates, certificates — which is part of the product rather than marketing.
We send occasional email about new courses only if you have asked for it. Every such email carries a one-click unsubscribe, and unsubscribing never affects your course access.
AI tools and your data
We do not put student personal information into third-party AI models. Where we use AI internally — for example to draft course material — it is with our own content, not yours.
Our courses ask you to practise on your own material. Please apply the judgement taught in the ethics module: do not paste confidential, sensitive or personal information belonging to others into a hosted model, and redact what does not need to be there. Anything you send to a third-party tool is governed by that tool's own privacy terms, not this policy.
How long we keep it
Because enrolment is permanent, we keep your account and course-access record for as long as you hold access, and transaction records for the period our tax obligations require, which is typically six years.
Support correspondence is kept for two years. Analytics data is retained in aggregate form only. Community posts remain until you delete them or ask us to.
Your rights
You may ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, object to a particular use, or ask us to export it. Write to privacy@collegeofai.international and we will respond within thirty days.
Deleting your personal information ends your course access, since access is tied to your email address. We will tell you before acting so the choice is informed.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you may complain to your local data protection authority. We would rather you told us first so we can put it right.
Security and children
Access is protected in transit by encryption, administrative access to student records is limited to those who need it, and we review that access regularly. No system is perfect; if a breach ever affected your information we would tell you and the relevant authority promptly.
Our courses are written for adults and our services are not directed at children under sixteen. We do not knowingly collect information from children, and we will delete it if we learn that we have.
Contact
Questions, requests or complaints about privacy should go to privacy@collegeofai.international, or through the contact page. A person reads every message and replies.
